About HOTBIN
The HOTBIN Composter is an innovative, highly insulated aerobic hot composting system designed and manufactured in the UK. Made from thick expanded polypropylene (EPP), it locks in heat generated naturally by bacteria to maintain internal temperatures between 40°C and 60°C, allowing it to produce rich compost in just 30 to 90 days—up to 32 times faster than traditional cold composting methods. Because it operates at such high temperatures, it can safely process a much wider variety of waste, including cooked food, meat, small bones, and perennial weeds without attracting pests or producing unpleasant odors.
The Brief
The brief was to create a practical, garden-led TV advert for HOTBIN, showcasing its hot composting system as a simple and effective way for households to recycle food and garden waste into rich compost at home. The campaign needed to educate viewers on the benefits of home composting while supporting sales, highlighting HOTBIN’s ability to compost all year round, handle a wider range of waste types and produce compost faster than traditional cold composting methods. With gardeners and environmentally conscious homeowners in mind, the advert was designed to show the full journey of using the product, from adding food and garden waste through to steam, temperature rise, compost harvesting and using the finished compost around the garden.
The Result
The campaign period showed a clear improvement in UK website performance for HOTBIN, with stronger audience reach, higher engagement and increased commercial activity versus the preceding period. Active users, new users and engaged sessions all rose, indicating that the campaign helped bring more people to the website and supported stronger first-time discovery. Key events and tracked revenue also increased, with growth seen across direct, organic and paid traffic channels. While the year-on-year picture was more mixed, paid traffic strengthened and post-campaign product interest for the HOTBIN 200ltr showed encouraging signs of continued attention. Overall, the results are consistent with the campaign supporting stronger short-term website reach, product interest and customer action.
